Online tutoring has become such a lifeline for therapists trying to navigate the pressure of licensure exams, especially when traditional studying just isn’t enough. In this episode of The Traveling Therapist Podcast, I chat with Dr. Pam Turner about her journey from clinician and professor to running a thriving online tutoring company that helps therapists pass exams like the LCSW, LMFT, NCE, CPCE, and more.
She shares how she built a program that meets therapists exactly where they are, especially those who have taken their exam multiple times or struggle with test anxiety and standardized testing. We also talk about how she blends travel, online work, and a deep passion for helping clinicians succeed in their careers. It is such an inspiring conversation, and I know so many listeners will relate to her story.

[00:00:00] Kym: Hey everybody. Welcome back to another episode of The Traveling Therapist podcast. I'm excited to have our guest today. She's got such a cool story. I don't even know which angle to hit it with, but
[00:00:10] Dr. Pam, welcome. So glad to have you here. I always start out when I have a clinician on the show and just say like, how did you go from being your typical therapist to a traveling therapist?
[00:00:21] Dr. Pam: Well, it's great to be here. I'm so excited. And I'll say that I'm an LCSW, I'm a clinician by trade. Uh, But for the last 10 years I've actually owned my own business. I teach college. I'm actually retiring from my college job in about 10 days. And I'll go full-time into my business and that way I'll be able to travel just so much more.
[00:00:41] In general, when my kids were little, we've always believed that are them, have experiences than gifts for Christmas. So I've always just believed that America's not the be all end all. I'm sorry that it's not, there's such an amazing world out there. And since we were little, they were traveling and of course they've always had to work.
[00:01:00] So we, I fit it in, so I just fit it in. But the goal now is to actually I'm not sure where I'm going first. But again, I own online tutoring business and I can go anywhere and I'm so excited.
[00:01:13] Kym: I love it. I wanna dive into all of that. So the years you were making it work, it looks like just reading through your bio, you've been to a ton of places. Like you've traveled the world
[00:01:22] Dr. Pam: I have. I have, I have,
[00:01:24] Kym: So a lot of that was that between like the teaching schedule you were trying to make it fit it in between the teaching schedule and then running a business also in the background while you were doing all this or a private practice. Like give us a little maybe background about how you made that all work.
[00:01:37] Dr. Pam: You know that college was online for a couple of years, so it was great. They said you could work from home. They didn't say what home you had to work from.
[00:01:48] Kym: I like that.
[00:01:49] Dr. Pam: so most definitely and I'll be honest, right when COVID lifted I felt safer outside of America in some countries. We were in Belize, and Belize had a a 500 US dollar fine, which is double Belizean dollars if you didn't have a mask. So I, I felt so safe. So really, I spent about a month in Belize and I could still teach my classes online. And I still ran my business, so Absolutely. It's just we were in, oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. We, we traveled a lot, right?
[00:02:21] Kym: I was just gonna ask you, 'cause literally before this podcast, I was researching Belize and Roatan. I'm like, where can I go over the Christmas
[00:02:28] Dr. Pam: Uh oh. Oh, we were actually in Belize. Yeah, that was the, that was, that was Christmas. We went back for Christmas 'cause we couldn't cruise. Absolutely. We spent 13 days on one of the, private islands. Oh gosh. It was amazing. they ferry everything in, so you have to go back and forth by ferry boat.
[00:02:45] They get your groceries for you. They brought us, they brought us fresh water. So that was a, that's really little lovely. We were in. Aruba, and Aruba, you can drink the water. So that was one of the first places we went. And they were very, very strict. So this was COVID tracing.
[00:03:02] So we went to, whenever we went to a restaurant, they had, you had to put your name and your email address. And Aruba, we had gotten back then it was expensive test. And we'd gotten that in the United States and they they couldn't prove it. They wouldn't let us, uh. so we had to isolate and we stayed in the Airbnb, but we had to isolate for a couple of times for a couple of days.
[00:03:23] And they came back to our room and checked us and let us go. But Aruba was really great. There were no, there were no cruise ships, so everything, there was hardly anybody there. And all the, you know, the cruise ships come in, all the little stores right there, there was nobody there. We got such great deals. And I was working. I was working. Absolutely.
[00:03:40] Kym: That is awesome. I just love to hear stories like that just to explain anybody listening, like you can just literally make it work. Yeah.
[00:03:47] Dr. Pam: Absolutely. Absolutely. So, my children, my son was married to someone who was from Swiss. He's divorced now. Uh, And my daughter is married to someone who is Israeli.
[00:03:58] And we are Americans so that travel has really opened their eyes to other people and other countries. So it's, it's one of the best things I've, I've ever, ever done is just, is open them to the world and I had to work, so that's only way I could do it was
[00:04:13] Kym: you gotta figure out a way to make money. Right. Amazing. Yes. Okay, so retiring in 10 days, is that what you said? From, from,
[00:04:21] Dr. Pam: and mortar, yes. I've, I've worked college, I've taught college for uh, so I've really been in the field for 30 through about 33 years is my son. So my son is 33. I got my LCSW from South Florida. Went into traditional private practice, like, you know, that's what I wanted to do. Had children that didn't work out so well.
[00:04:39] So I, I was a school social worker for a little bit. And then I, I finally got on college and I did a lot of guest speaking. A lot of anywhere in the world that would pay for me to speak, I would go, that led me to that and, and just our, just the love for the world just, I wanna see what the, what the Romans do, and I wanna do what, you know what everybody, I just wanna see it.
[00:05:03] And then the way to do it is, is just to always have an online business. I knew that. I knew that I had to have an online business and I love what I do. So Amazing.
[00:05:12] Kym: Well, let's dive into what you do. I wanna talk about this. It's such a unique, interesting niche that you're in, so I'd love to just tell everybody what it is and then talk a little bit about how you created this and then what it is, like how do you run it, how do you run it from anywhere in the world? Like let's talk about all of that.
[00:05:28] Dr. Pam: we actually own the only one in the United States. We're a specialty tutoring company. We tutor for any mental health exam. So whether it's the LMFT the LCSW, the NCE, the CPCE, drug and alcohol you name it we tutor to it. I worked for one of those companies, those tutoring companies, one of my part-time jobs, and they began to guarantee my services and I'm thinking.
[00:05:55] If somebody's gonna guarantee my services, it's gonna be me. So I started off As a, a solo pretor. And of course, like every solo pretor, I'd say, oh, you wanna speak to Dr. Pam? Lemme go get her. We'll get back to you. Was always my, my thing. Yeah. Okay. So there was only me and we, what I found it is. Really there's, there just wasn't anybody doing what we did. There are a lot of people that have taken their, their tests that've got their master's degree.
[00:06:23] Such smart people. They got all A's, but they didn't learn standardized testing. And when you're taking the test, as you know, you really have to know what the test want you to answer, not what you do in practice every day. You have to know theory and you may use as some sort of narrative theory in your practice, but the test doesn't care how you use it.
[00:06:42] Everybody gets the same test. So we really help you understand the theories and how the theories apply. We have people that have been outta school for 20, 25 years. I get a lot of school counselors who decide that they wanna go back and become clinicians, and they've been outta school for a very long time.
[00:06:59] So we start with basic content and really teaching you the theories and the careers and the research and all the things that the test is gonna cover. Or we have people that have just graduated and can't pass the CPCE. A lot of states allow make, counselors take that comprehensive test before they graduate.
[00:07:16] right now I have a staff, I think I have 14 other tutors on my staff. They're all licensed, All of them have come through my program, so we have a very specific way that we teach and they've come through the way that we teach and now they work for me. So it's, it's amazing.
[00:07:31] It's absolutely amazing. And they love paying it forward because they were stuck and they couldn't pass the test. And we have this amazing program that I've come up with and we've got a 96% passing rate . We are
[00:07:42] Kym: Uh, I was scouring your website today because when I knew we were having this interview, I was like, oh my gosh, I'm having flashbacks from when I had to take the exam. I had these, I don't even know whose books they were, but they were these thick books and they were just basically practice tests. And it was like just practice test.
[00:07:58] Every practice test. And I just sat with them and just would quiz myself. I had my boyfriend quizzing me, you know, just constantly. And when I went to take the test, I was so scared. 'cause you know, I was already working for a private group practice and they were like, you need to pass this. If you don't pass this, there's gonna be a problem. You know, we needed LCSW, so there's a lot of pressure around it, you know, and then,
[00:08:20] Dr. Pam: and, and I can tell you that I don't know when you took the test, but in the last few years, especially the, LPC it's really changed from simple recall. It's really more application questions now. So you have to know the theories and then know how to apply them.
[00:08:35] You'll get a scenario and have to decide, you know, what's ethical and what's not ethical and, and make decisions like that. And a lot of people, for example, the, the code of ethics, there's not a dollar amount on whether or not you can take a gift There's not, it doesn't say that at all, but you've worked for a company that says you can't take more than $25 or this, but the code of ethics does not say that.
[00:08:57] It says a small gift, but there's actually no dollar amount. So little things like that, if you've worked for an agency and this is what you've been told, it's just not true for the test. So things like that, that we really hone in on and make sure that you understand and and then they test, test taking skills.
[00:09:14] Kym: Yes. And it, it's so, like I have a coaching client, I think she took it like eight times the lPC exam and you know, she's got learning difficulties. She reading comprehension isn't her thing. She's an excellent clinician. She has a huge group practice with like, like 20 clinicians in this group practice that she runs.
[00:09:32] She's completely capable and an amazing clinician, but she could not pass this test. And it's just, you know, I wish I'd known about, you know, 'cause of course I was saying, well this is what I did. I used these books and studied and that sort of thing. But I wish I'd known about this. I didn't even think to look for a tutoring company for like adult pre-licensed clinicians, you know, it never even dawned on me. So it's really cool to hear that this is available. So it's for all the tests?
[00:09:57] Dr. Pam: I'll the test. I'll the test. So, so that's a typical client. And again, so what we're gonna do with that client is we're gonna really suggest accommodations. We would suggest probably two extra hours, a private room, and then maybe even a reader. And we tell our clients, the reader doesn't have to read everything to you.
[00:10:15] They can read three words or six words or whatever you want. Just to kind of help you use that time to comprehend. And it's, it's really about just, just using everything available to get you through those tests. I mean, I, I've tutored people that were both hearing impaired and sight impaired. So there's so many accommodations out there that really a lot of people just don't know. But mm-hmm. We, yeah, you, you can do this. you if Yeah, you've you can do this.
[00:10:41] Kym: So what is the mindset shift? Like somebody that's failed it eight times, how do you help them, get the courage to do it again? And how do you help somebody that's in that situation through your program? Because I want somebody listening that's maybe is like, that's me. I failed it. I'm not even gonna try to take it again.
[00:10:56] Dr. Pam: we're called, it's it's academic coaching for world Changers because we do a lot of coaching, a lot of, and all of us are clinicians on my staff. So we, we really, we understand we're not just tutors, we're we're clinicians. And it really is reminding you you're just missing a skill.
[00:11:14] That's it. That's, you're missing a skill the same way that you learned how to drive the same way that you learned your job. Let me teach you the skill of passing a standardized test you got through grad school with your lovely high iq. And most of my clients have never learned how to study 'cause they never had to.
[00:11:31] They're the smart kids. Okay, we teach you how to study. I can't tell you our technique. You gotta, you gotta watch our YouTube channel. But we definitely have a technique that's proven, that's research. It's really based on the way your brain works and neuroplasticity. So it's really well researched and, and we do.
[00:11:48] We really do well, and please just don't give up. Don't give up. And I, I get clients that, that come close and get, I'll show them, won't take it again for three years. Like, yeah, you show them. you come close, get with us and let us tutor you and take it again in 30 days. While the information is still fresh, and, and I can go over questions that you probably missed and, and, and, and topics you missed.
[00:12:14] One of the things that we do, and we're not trying to ever invalidate any test rules or anything like that but we, we ask our clients, you know, did you see something that we didn't teach you? Because we take responsibility if there's, there are new terms or something out there that's not in, current study guides or not in textbooks then we need to learn it.
[00:12:34] we need to learn it. So we really try take pride in, in really keeping up to date and not have written a book 30 years ago that we still teach from. We, we really, really keep up to date.
[00:12:45] Kym: That's amazing. it sounds like an amazing program. It really does. how do you go from like pretending to be Dr. Pam's assistant to having this team because part of, part of what the listeners might not know is before I do a podcast, I always have the guests submit like a form with topics you can talk about.
[00:13:01] And part of what you talked about on there was like it sounded like scaling, hiring the right people leadership, that sort of thing. So I wonder, can we talk about that a little bit? 'cause I think a lot of entrepreneurial therapists, get in this place where they, can't scale anymore without starting to do what you've done with this company. So I'd love if we could talk about that a little bit and give some, tips, pointers around how do you do that?
[00:13:24] Dr. Pam: It's scary as all get out. I'm not gonna lie. Oh my gosh. It is scary as all get out. I started getting really busy and I realized that I needed at least some administrative staff. I was missing clients. I was double booking. I just, I couldn't, I just couldn't do it. I just couldn't do it. And that person that I hired, I promised her the more money that we made, she would make. So as we grew. As we grew, so the more money I make, you'll make. I've really tried to be really, really fair with, with my clinicians.
[00:13:58] I can't do it without them. I, I can't. We are, we're a team. So slowly we began just to, I just didn't have enough time. It was just me. And I remember, I'm still teaching college at this point. I can't. I can't give, I needed the insurance, let's be honest. I needed the insurance. I had little kids and we kept growing.
[00:14:15] And then I'd hire another one and hire another one. and really just kept going. And in the beginning you know, it's, it's, that's your baby. That's your baby. And your're giving it to somebody else. I'm a huge fan of a, a, a, black mega preacher and listening to one of his sermons, he talked about when he realized he couldn't do everything and he had to just trust somebody.
[00:14:37] So we, we definitely in the beginning we put out ads, you know, we, we just ran ads and, and now it's really by word of mouth. So as we need somebody and, yeah, so I, I end up hiring a, a, I have a CFO 'cause you know, I, I'm, I'm a social worker. I, I make decisions with my heart. Oh, they don't need to pay.
[00:14:56] Kym: Yeah. I don't look at numbers at
[00:14:58] Dr. Pam: Exactly. He's like,
[00:14:59] Kym: like, well, this sounds like a good idea.
[00:15:00] Dr. Pam: the staff's gotta be paid. You, we gotta, we, we can't just, you know, we got staff to pay. so definitely let's see here. I have a, a chief media officer. 'cause you know, I, I, I, I don't know how to run social media. I started, you know, myself and I just, that's not my cup of tea.
[00:15:16] I just, let's pretend I'm good at what I do. I'm very good. At the creative parts. I'm very good at running the business. I do a lot of research. But the other things behind the scene, I, I had to admit though, that's just not my cup of tea. I am not organized enough. I'm not my, chief scheduler.
[00:15:33] She is she's amazing. When I, when I clocked in this morning, I'm like, oh my gosh, where's that? Oh. Said, it's, it's on your schedule, Pam, it's on your schedule. So yeah. So far, we have not done any outside investing investments. We've really run it on my house and my bills and my, just me. Just me. We've recently, we released our book, our first book about about six months ago. We've got an app that we, we, we were partnering with. So really finding other people that are very good at what they do.
[00:16:04] Then letting me do what I do and not having my hands in every, pocket. I, I can't, I can't. And then if I'm focused on, on who paid I, I, I can't do what I do. So for, for invest for people that are, are thinking about running a business and scaling, it's scary. It's scary. It's scary, it's scary. And like, I think every other person I've always mentioned my staff was paid.
[00:16:26] There was weeks that, that I didn't draw a salary from my business. But my staff was always paid though. Always be paid that well, they're, they're important to me. They're this business. I may be the face of the business but I, I can't do it without them. They're all amazing.
[00:16:38] Kym: Absolutely. Yeah, that's, those are such good tips. And it sounds like bringing in tutors that actually went through your program and know your proprietary method and it worked for them. They're probably like true believers and are good advocates for your program, I'm
[00:16:53] Dr. Pam: They are, they are. Now they ask. So, so, and we'll tell you in the beginning we really, we, we recommend 90 days of studying with us, and we usually do a 15, a 15 week session. and we tell people what we tell people when we start that we hire from within. And so I've get, I get people that as they're going through and, and, you know, it's not for everybody. It's not for everybody.
[00:17:13] But there are definitely some people that, don't mind being on camera 24 7. 'cause everything we do is recorded. And just have that personality that really, really shine. And we definitely, we definitely grabbed them. We, we, yes, we grabbed them and we said, Hey, come work for us.
[00:17:28] Kym: So I wonder if we could shift just a little bit, 'cause something else you talked about in your bio is re inventing yourself, I, I can't remember the word you used, but reinventing yourself at 50 after going through a major life change. I wonder, could you talk about that a little bit as like a clinician that went through that and like how, you know,
[00:17:47] Dr. Pam: I turned 60 October 24th, so I dunno when this is gonna
[00:17:50] Kym: Okay. You do not even look anywhere near 60. I just wanna say anybody listening, she does not look 60.
[00:17:56] Dr. Pam: I have a 33-year-old son, so I just say that out there. I didn't have him when I was 12. Okay. I was really a grown adult. but, but yeah, at, at 50 my life fell apart. It, it fell apart. My husband died and it wasn't a good marriage anyway. God knew what he was doing. He did. I didn't kill him. I always put that
[00:18:13] Kym: Okay. Okay.
[00:18:14] Dr. Pam: he just died. Okay.
[00:18:15] Kym: Good caveat.
[00:18:16] Dr. Pam: And I like most moms and wives, I didn't know who I was. I didn't know what I liked to eat. I, you know, we, I had four other people to feed. We did what was good for the family, He died in October. Lost, confused. I used uh, the defense mechanism intellectualization.
[00:18:35] In March I had called, I'd started a, a, a PhD program earlier and, you know, kids and life and business and blah, blah, blah. And I didn't, I didn't finish. So I called in March and I said, and it was like six months after he's died. let's just go to school. What the heck? And I, I, I called school and they said, you know, this is the application fee.
[00:18:56] And I didn't have it. I, I just, I didn't have it. She said, We'll just waive it. I'm like, okay, God, you're telling me something.
[00:19:02] Kym: That's amazing.
[00:19:04] Dr. Pam: it, I really was, I, I did not have it. I'm not, I just, I just didn't, like, like most people, I mean, my life was a mess. I was a total mess. My kids one was in co two, were in college and one was in middle school.
[00:19:17] Kym: Oh
[00:19:17] Dr. Pam: And I, I struggling, struggling, struggling. I'm a believer, so I always share that with you. And I, I definitely remember being on my bathroom floor and, and, and just crying out to the Lord, like, what do I, am I, what am I gonna do? But I, I can't do this by myself. I, and I did. I, I I said, okay. And it really was, again, it was a defense mechanism.
[00:19:36] It was avoiding life, avoiding the pain. Just go back to school. Just go back to school. So now my business is small, but I still have a full-time job teaching college, and I've got at least two kids that are, you know, I've got a support still. And I just, that was my coping mechanism. It, that's just how I coped.
[00:19:54] So I worked and worked and worked and worked and worked. They all grew up. My last one is finally she's in grad school. She's 22. And in those years I really began to find who I was and just what I like to eat and what I like to do and really learn me. And I as, as a girl at, if you're my age, we, we weren't taught to find us.
[00:20:17] We were taught to be good wives and good mothers. And I, I wasn't taught to, to even know who I was. And thank goodness I really focused that with my girls and my son too. Just, you know, be you, figure out what you like and who you are. I'm totally outdoorsy. I love to, Camp. I love hiking. I like bike riding.
[00:20:36] Gosh, I like to eat. I, I love to cook. I love to cook, but now I know what I like to cook 'cause it's just a, a single serving. Actually I take that back. I, I make my own dog food too.
[00:20:46] Kym: Oh, you do? Oh my gosh. How
[00:20:48] Dr. Pam: have two Shihtzu. And I just, I, yeah, I just, I'd love to cook because I make my
[00:20:52] Kym: I love that.
[00:20:53] Dr. Pam: yeah, it was really, it was a, a very tough time in life. Very tough. I, I wouldn't be who I was who I am today. If I, if I hadn't gone through that, there wouldn't be a Dr. Pam. there wouldn't be this, business on this magnitude. 'cause I didn't know I had enough self-esteem to do it. I'm not gonna pretend. I just, I just didn't think I could.
[00:21:11] Kym: What an amazingly inspirational story.
[00:21:14] Dr. Pam: I, I, I have a lot of faith that, that this was always his plan for me. Again, if he, if my husband hadn't died, I, I, I wouldn't have known I had enough self-esteem to do
[00:21:24] Kym: Mm That's amazing. In the, the the testing business that started after he died, so.
[00:21:30] Dr. Pam: I, I actually, it did. It's no, I, well, I've worked, I was working for other companies.
[00:21:34] Kym: Oh, I see. Okay.
[00:21:35] Dr. Pam: was working, but I didn't start my own business until after he died. Absolutely,
[00:21:38] Kym: Gosh, isn't it always amazing when you look back, like how all the paths lead to like these amazing places when you think back on it? Like all the little pieces? Yeah.
[00:21:47] Dr. Pam: it's funny because I was not on Facebook. I told my kids I was not gonna ever ask them to be their friend. I'm not gonna, I'm not that. I'm so clear about that. I am never gonna be on Facebook. I'm not gonna ask you to be your friend. And I started off my business really in Facebook groups.
[00:22:01] There are lots of like LCSW and LFTs, that's how I started. That's really, it's free advertising. You know, I've, I'd say, Hey, this is my tutoring and this is my site, and we started off on Skype. That's how old we were. We're on our own platform now, but definitely that, that's where we started.
[00:22:17] And it grew. It just, it just grew. And I, I tell all of our clients that if any of my, my staff, if they don't, if they, if it doesn't show that they love what they do. Let me know 'cause we, it's, it's world changers. We really believe that this stupid sheet of paper is stopping you from doing.
[00:22:37] What your calling is, you know, and it, it's, it's a sheet of paper and I can help you get that sheet of paper. It, it's, I promise you I can. And, and that's the beginning of changing your world and all the other people that you're gonna change. 'cause now you have this sheet of paper and there are people that you couldn't see before.
[00:22:53] 'cause you didn't have this sheet of paper. So it really is just giving back and really believing in, in our clients. We do, we do you, you have a master's degree when you get to us, I don't think they handed it out. So.
[00:23:04] Kym: Right. You figured out how to do that. You can do this for sure. Yeah. With your help especially. Yes, Thank you. Gosh, what a amazing story in this business you built. It's gotta help so many people. I just couldn't even imagine how many people are finding you and just like getting past that hurdle, Because it is a stupid piece of paper, It's necessary, but it's like, gosh, I mean, so like arbitrary to like what we do, you know? It's like, okay, now I've got the paper, now I'm official, you know?
[00:23:31] Dr. Pam: Uh, we, we make a joke. You know, we don't make you a better clinician. I'm sorry. Like when it says pass the heavens, don't open up. And all of a sudden all these skills just fall in your lap. We don't do that. We just make you a better test taker.
[00:23:43] You're already a good clinician and a good clinician. And if you're not there yet, you're new it, it's time and good supervision. So we don't do that. We don't do that. We just do just help you get the sheet of paper.
[00:23:53] Kym: Yeah. Okay, so now that you are retiring, I guess from college in 10 days, what are your travel plans? do you have like a big thing play a doubt, or
[00:24:02] Dr. Pam: Uh, so, my wise children have said you know, don't move to a place yet, mom. You need to live in a couple of places. Because I actually wanna live outside the country. So my wise children have said, you know, go and live three months here and three months there, and three months here.
[00:24:18] And, and see, see what you like. I want the Caribbean. I, I love Europe, but I want warm. I just want warm. And I can't afford southern Italy that, that's my yes. But I, I can't afford to live there,
[00:24:29] So I need a place where my, my American dollar goes far. And as safe. Safe as a single female. And really since COVID, most countries have amazing internet. And even in like the free parks and outside it most have a maze. I've never, ever had trouble teaching outside of the country. So I don't know.
[00:24:48] So again Aruba's on my list. Belize Costa Rica's always been on my list, but every American wants to go to Costa Rica, I don't know anymore. There's a Facebook page. It's, it's called Black It, and there's another one for therapists, but black, it is African Americans who've left the country,
[00:25:05] And I'm on that page a lot to kind of just see where people go and, and to find a community that's important to me is, is wherever I end up is, is to have a, a community of, of, and not necessarily Americans, just a community of people. I'm a social worker. I need to talk to people.
[00:25:20] But absolutely somewhere in the Caribbean, some of the islands are very expensive and I've looked at like, sometimes what it takes to, to buy there. They've got so many rules. So yeah. But I wanna, I've got kids. I definitely wanna keep my home here as well. So no McMansion, you know, living off the coast yet,
[00:25:36] Kym: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:25:37] Dr. Pam: But definitely just living in some Airbnbs until I figure out what my final place will be.
[00:25:42] Kym: Nice. I think that's a brilliant way to do it. We're still doing that. We've been doing this for four years. We just go from Airbnb to Airbnb and haven't decided on that place yet.
[00:25:51] Dr. Pam: yeah, What's your favorite place?
[00:25:53] Kym: Oh gosh. Everybody asks that. I, I could not even tell you. I swear like every place is just different. We tend to gravitate towards South Florida a lot just because it's easy. It's in the country, the water's beautiful. It's almost like you're in the Caribbean. So we
[00:26:07] Dr. Pam: So that's where I'm from.
[00:26:09] Kym: Okay. Yeah. You said South Florida University. I was like, I wonder what part we lived in Hollywood for a couple years down in Hollywood, near Miami. I really like it down there.
[00:26:17] Mm-hmm.
[00:26:17] Dr. Pam: So there's a, a, a small world. There's a small world Miramar High School.
[00:26:22] Kym: Oh yeah.
[00:26:23] Dr. Pam: There's a small special ed school behind it. I worked there right after it was one of my, my second jobs after grad school, so I was a, it's an special, it's a, a school for emotional children with emotional needs. And that's, I worked there for quite a bit. Yeah.
[00:26:37] Kym: So cool. I love it down there. I mean, we, we love like the Dominican Republic, we've been there probably like 20 times down in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, you know, there's just everywhere's. Great. We try to stay in the same general time zone, but we're Caribbean people definitely versus like maybe Asia or you know, europe or something. So I'm kind of with you on that.
[00:26:57] Dr. Pam: the time zone is important too because we you know, Thailand and like, like, even like Fiji are great, but in the Philippines, but I can't work on, on that time zone. I have to be this, you know, at least eastern or central standard time to, to be able to run our business.
[00:27:13] Kym: function with clients in the United States. Yeah, totally. Well, thank you so much. So how do people find you? They want to, to look at your program or work with you. How do they find you?
[00:27:23] Dr. Pam: So, I, I promise you, if you just put in Dr. Pam a c WC in your Google bar, we come up. So we're, we're pretty popular. It is Dr. Pam, A CWC, or it, our name of our business is Academic Coaching for World Changers. And again, it's abbreviated A CWC. And my name is, I really go by Dr. Pam. My name is Dr. It's, it's Pamela Winton.
[00:27:45] Pamela Janine Winton Turner. It's like 24 letters in my name. But, but it's, if you search, Dr. Pam will come up. If you can find us on YouTube you can find us on TikTok, you can find us on LinkedIn. We've got a couple of Facebook sites, so most definitely, most definitely. [00:28:29] Kym: yeah. And people need you, Dr. Pam. Thank you. Amazing what you're doing. Thanks so much for being here today.
